Director of Residential Education

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Residential Education supervises and manages the residential life operation (1,000 resident capacity), programs, activities and professional and paraprofessional staffing of university on-campus residence areas. The Director of Residential Education coordinates the student judicial process for on-campus residence areas and responds to student crisis and emergencies. The Associate Dean of Students along with the Director of Residential Education gives direction to the strategic plan, evaluation and assessment, mission, and vision of the housing services and residence life program at Concordia University Irvine. The Director of Residential Education will seek to enhance the spiritual development opportunities for the professional staff and to the Resident Assistants. They will oversee an intentional relational ministry partnership with Abbeywest in the Residence Halls in the Care Minister program. Along with other members of the housing services and residential education team, the Director of Residential Education creates and fosters an academic and supportive community life environment while meeting the established philosophical, developmental, and spiritual objectives of the university.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in housing or residential life in a college/university community setting, with experience in a management role preferred; Master’s degree in College Student Affairs, Administration, Counseling, or related field preferred; Experience working in a Christian liberal arts institution is desirable.
