Living-Learning Community Resident Director

POSITION SUMMARY
The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a dynamic, experienced and ambitious candidate to become our Living-Learning Community Resident Director. Opening in Fall 2012, our brand new residence hall, the Nevada Living-Learning Community, is designed specifically for Living-Learning Communities and includes two classrooms, faculty office space and residential spaces organized to maximize LLC interaction. This LLC RD position will supervise a fast-growing LLC program, have numerous opportunities for direct involvement with faculty, and will oversee new facility operations.

The LLC Resident Director is responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating 8 resident assistants and 4 academic mentors. Duties also include leadership development, student conduct, advising in our academic intervention program, LLC teaching opportunities, administrative tasks and on-call duties. We offer a very competitive salary for 12-month contract in addition to furnished apartment, meal plan during the academic year, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in college student development, student personnel, counseling, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience working with Living Learning Communities and/or faculty involvement in the residence hall setting.
A minimum of one academic year of live-in, residence hall work/leadership experience
Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
