Our Residence Services team is comprised of EDUCATORS, LEADERS, and MANAGERS who are dedicated to enhancing and complementing the academic and personal development of residence hall students. Our staff cultivates and nurtures values in students that emphasize self awareness, civic engagement, student leadership, responsible citizenship, and the honoring of human differences. We have over 6,500 students living our 25 residence halls. With over 80% of our first year students living in the halls and up to 50% of our undergraduate International students living in our residence halls, they are a prime location for students to meet & interact with other students from Ohio and around the World! Our residential communities include a growing number of academic partnerships and a first year experience community that houses over 1200 first year students!

Residence Hall Director
Residence Hall Directors are essential to the University mission. RHDs enhance student learning and academic success through the creation of a community environment that supports the overall development of students while overseeing the daily operation of a multi-unit or large single unit residence hall. Other responsibilities include the supervision and evaluation of paraprofessional staff, providing on-call crisis intervention, oversight of hall programming, advising the hall council and other duties for the department/University community as assigned.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and 1 year of prior experience as a resident assistant, graduate assistant or other relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration/College Student Personnel/Development or related field. Candidates identified for hire with Kent State University must successfully complete a criminal background check. The start date for this position is August 1, 2012.

Remuneration: a 10-month position with a starting salary of $27,477; furnished apartment; benefits package; staff meal plan; professional development funds; and tuition waiver (note: summer employment is available, but limited).
