Lovellie “Happy” Cimenski-Almogela
Lovellie
Lovellie “Happy” Cimenski-Almogela is currently the Director of Housing and Residential Life and Campus Judicial Officer at California State University, San Bernardino where she has been for almost 9 years.  Happy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of San Francisco and her Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and College Student Development from Western Illinois University.  Happy has been in the field of Student Affairs for 21 years and has worked at several universities throughout the United States. 

Throughout her career tenure, Happy has been involved in ACPA, ACUHO-I, NEACUHO, and WACUHO.  In WACUHO, Happy has been actively involved through a number of committees, conference presentations, and as a Past President.  Happy has conducted a number of training and workshop sessions on leadership development, self-awareness, Organizational and Systems theory, life balance, and diversity awareness. 

In 2006, a major change occurred in Happy’s life which prompted her to redirect her career goals and life path:  the difficult birth of her one and only child, Ventura Keoni (5 years old).  Together with her husband, Jason Cimenski-Almogela (proud past Student Affairs professional from University of California, Riverside and current Artist), Happy is committed to reflecting on life’s past in order to understand the present and prepare for the future.  As a family, the Cimenski-Almogelas enjoy spending time together camping, hiking or simply having picnics in the backyard.

 

Stephen Fleischer, M.Ed.
Stephen
Stephen Fleischer is the Director of Housing at California State University, Los Angeles. Before becoming a Golden Eagle two years age, Stephen spent six years at Cal Poly Pomona. Stephen has a bachelor of arts in sociology from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Master of Education in Higher Education from the College of William and Mary.Fleischer first started his career in student personnel 29ish years ago at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and worked at the College of William and Mary, New York University, the University of New Hampshire and a short stint as a temp employee at UCLA.

During the 1990’s before moving to Los Angeles from his native Boston, Stephen took a nine year break from student affairs and was the Associate Director of Housing at the AIDS Action Committee and the Senior Program Manager for the AIDS Housing Corporation. Working with persons living with AIDS, before and after the advent of life saving medications, solidified Stephen’s belief in the worth and genius of all people. He was also a life coach and had a color consultation and house painting business.

Stephen plans to finish his Ed.D. at California State University, Long Beach in May of this year. He is smack in the middle of writing his dissertation: Leadership Competencies Among Mid-level Managers in Student Affairs. Stephen lives in Hollywood and enjoys hiking; working on his entropic home and hanging out in his Palm Springs get away. Always glad to contribute to the field, Stephen is thrilled to work with you and Happy at PMI this year.
